Building Multi-Year Creative Campaigns for Live Entertainment
Since 2022, I’ve worked closely with Laron Mayfield and Mo’ Betta Entertainment across a growing slate of live events and promotional campaigns, beginning with the Feel Mo’ Betta stage as part of the City of San Francisco’s annual Juneteenth celebration. The event brings together nationally recognized artists, Bay Area talent, community leaders, and city involvement. What began as event creative developed into an ongoing partnership spanning digital promotion, motion, print, out of home advertising, event branding, and supporting production assets.
BRINGING STATIC GRAPHICS TO LIFE
DESIGNING THE ENERGY OF THE EVENT
The Feel Mo’ Betta stage became the foundation of the partnership. Each year, I developed the event’s promotional creative across flyers, social media, digital campaigns, print, video, and on site applications, adapting the visual direction to reflect each year’s lineup and energy. Over the years, the stage has featured artists including Ray J, Pleasure P, Eric Bellinger, K. Michelle, Bobby V, Young Dro, Yung Joc, Rocko, 310babii, Yung Bleu, and prominent Bay Area artists. The broader Juneteenth celebration draws tens of thousands of attendees, with recent editions also supported by brands including EMPIRE, Cookies, and Earl Stevens Selections.
PROMOTIONAL MOTION
BRINGING THE CAMPAIGNS TO LIFE
I also produced promotional videos across multiple years, combining artist footage, event graphics, music, editing, and motion to build excitement around each lineup. As the campaigns evolved, I introduced more advanced production techniques, including selective AI assisted visuals and, most recently, voiceover, to create more cinematic and fully produced promotional content. The visibility of the Block Party work led to additional opportunities beyond the campaign, including promotional creative for Lakefest Oakland after its organizer saw the event promotion, as well as a casting call featuring reality personality Tommie Lee. These projects represent only a portion of the additional work that grew out of my ongoing creative relationship with Laron and Mo’ Betta Entertainment.
EVENT BRANDING
SUPPORTING THE LIVE EXPERIENCE
Beyond promotional media, I developed supporting assets that carried the brand into the physical event experience, including step and repeat graphics, signage, billboards, backstage VIP badges and lanyards, and branded elements for artist lounges such as custom pillows and décor. The relationship also expanded into additional Juneteenth programming, including creative for the Old School stage, where I produced promotional artwork and billboard design after being brought in through the larger event campaign. The broader partnership has also included creative support for other Mo’ Betta events and activations, extending the work well beyond a single annual campaign.
